Gavin Cranmer Moralee
Gavin Moralee was born in 1980 and educated at Alleyn's School, Dulwich. Whilst head chorister at St. Barnabas Church, Dulwich, he won the 1992 RSCM Choirboy Of The Year competition, studying with William McVicker and Hilary Hill. He performed as a soloist in a variety of concerts at the Barbican, Royal Albert Hall, St. John's, Smith Square and the Houses of Parliament, as well as on BBC Radio and TV, including Songs Of Praise. During this time he recorded two CDs - Hear My Prayer and Jubilate Deo.
Working towards a BMus at Trinity College of Music, he studies with John Wakefield and is a Choral Scholar at St. George's Cathedral, Southwark. Recent performances have included solos in Mozart's Requiem and Britten's Rejoice In The Lamb. Forthcoming performances include The Triumph Of Life (Stratford Arts Centre) and Caiaphas in Jonathan Harvey's Passion And Resurrection (Canterbury Cathedral).
Gavin Cranmer Moralee was lucky enough to win the Choirboy of the year competition in 1992. The choir which Gavin was a member of at St Barnabas Church, Dulwich, London was not so fortunate as it burnt down. Neither of the albums recorded appear to be in print although 'Hear my Prayer' is easy to locate at least second hand. This album is shared with the Choirgirl of the year Fiona Wight.
