 Gareth Naidoo - England, UK

Gareth started in the music business when he was eight as a chorister at St Helen's Church, Welton. At the age of ten he won his first award at the Hull Musical Festival with his rendering of Pie Jesu. He entered the competition on the following years, and won each time!

Gareth has three awards from the Royal School of Church Music and a bursary from them to learn the organ. He has also gained the Dean's Chorister, Archbishop's Chorister and the St Nicholas Junior Award from the RSCM, and is currently being tutored on the organ at Beverley Minster by Dr Alan Spedding.

He has sung around the country with the RSCM Northern Cathedral Singers, and of course, was head chorister at St Helen's in Welton until he was 16.

At 18 Gareth has gained his Advanced Certificate on the Piano and has been accepted by the Royal Northern College of Music for September 2001 to study piano. He continues to play the organ at St. Helen's in Welton. --Fransnet
