Christopher Bruerton, born on the east coast of New Zealand's South Island, had always loved cathedral music and was inspired by tapes of Aled Jones. After he attended a Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Christ Church Cathedral, he announced, "That's the choir I want to join." Christopher Bruerton, at the time of the recording (Cathedral Favourites), was in his fourth year as a chorister at Christ Church Cathedral and attending Burnside High School. He sang at the inauguration of the Reiger Organ in The Christchurch Town Hall in 1997 and was a guest soloist at the Senior Citizens' Concert during the 1998 Montana Christchurch Winter Festival. The Christ Church Cathedral Choir is the only professional church choir in New Zealand and is part of a centuries-old music tradition
Christopher Bruerton was a member of Christchurch Cathedral Choir, New Zealand. In 1997 he was a soloist along with Andre Hofenk (treble) at the inauguration of the New Rieger Organ at Christchurch Town Hall. He went on to record two CDs, one of Anthems and the other of Christmas Carols. The Christmas album was quite popular and was available at amazon.de for some time. It is now available as an electronic download.
