Andrew Wicks was born in 1963. He joined the Choir of Chichester Cathedral in 1971 and became head chorister in 1975. In addition to the services in the Cathedral he has sung with the Academy of Saint Martin-in-the-Fields. Andrew's two solo concerts with John Birch, organ and piano, in the Cathedral's lunchtime series were very well received by the press and attracted record attendances. Six of the items on this disc were recorded during these concerts. Besides his singing, Andrew Wicks plays the trumpet and in less serious moments the guitar and ukelele! Andrew Wicks ( Andrew MacKenzie-Wicks) is now a tenor. He became a choraL scholar at Durham and studied singing and performance at the Royal Northern College of Music.
